Optimize types for large datasets

**Feature request**
It would be great to have analytics for api.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_analytics` with default `false`.

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating configuration handling and the API-related analytics entry point, then determine the expected analytics output and how production deployments consume it; done should include the new enable_analytics option defaulting to false and working analytics behavior.
