Add configuration options for encryption

**Feature request**
It would be great to have sorting for api.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_sorting` with default `false`.

No file, test, or entry point is identified. First reconcile the encryption title with the body’s API-sorting request, then locate the API and configuration handling; done should include a clear sorting behavior and a documented default of false for enable_sorting.
