Improve data performance

**Feature request**
It would be great to have timeout for helpers.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_timeout` with default `false`.

Start by locating the helper execution path and the configuration handling in the repository; the issue does not name specific files or tests. Determine how a timeout should apply to helpers and how the new enable_timeout option is represented, then verify that the default remains disabled and that enabled timeouts work for production-style use.
