Support backup configuration

**Feature request**
It would be great to have timeout for types.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_timeout` with default `false`.

Start by locating the configuration entry point and existing timeout-related settings in the repository. Clarify which types need timeouts and how enable_timeout should affect them, then add the option with a default of false and verify the configuration behavior with the relevant existing checks or tests.
