Refactor validation for better readability

**Feature request**
It would be great to have backup for core.

**Use case**
Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_backup` with default `false`.

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the core component and existing configuration handling, then clarify what “backup for core” means and how enable_backup should affect it. Done should include the option with default false and an agreed backup behavior.
