Consider deprecating old handlers API

It would be great to have analytics for components.

Many users need this functionality for production deployments.

**Implementation idea**
Add a new config option `enable_analytics` with default `false`.

No file, test, or entry point is identified. First locate the old handlers API and the configuration parsing path, then clarify whether this issue is about deprecation, component analytics, or both.
