Description

Bug Report

YDB Python version: 2.12.1

Environment macos

Current behavior: wait until timeout if error in database name/endpoint/token and fail with timeout error

Expected behavior: fail with real error (for example bad auth), may be with faster fail.

Steps to reproduce:

import ydb

token = "..."

endpoint = "..."
database = "..."

DRIVER = ydb.Driver(
    endpoint=endpoint,
    database=database,
    credentials=ydb.credentials.AuthTokenCredentials(token)
)
DRIVER.wait(10)

print(1)

Research direction

Start with the ydb.Driver and Driver.wait entry points shown in the reproduction, then trace how the endpoint, database name, and AuthTokenCredentials token are handled. Use the supplied example with invalid connection arguments to verify that the actual connection error is surfaced instead of a timeout; the issue is fixed when this behavior is reproducible and testable.
