Add/Improve Unit Tests (RSpec) on actions/helpers

There's only a little part of our release toolkit covered with unit tests / specs.

This tasks consists on increasing our unit test coverage for our actions and our helper methods as well as improving the RSpec / Unit test infrastructure / architecture if/where needed.

Start by locating the RSpec setup, helpers, and action implementations in the release toolkit. Review the *_version_helper, *_git_helper, other iOS, common, Android, configure, and shared action areas listed in the issue. Done means meaningful unit coverage across the listed helpers and actions, with any needed RSpec or unit-test infrastructure improvements.
