Description
Description
I have a self-hosted WP site and use the official client to post. All posts from the iOS client have comments disabled despite (as shown) enabling them in the post settings.
Note that my wp.com site works fine in the same app. It only occurs self-hosted.
Step-by-step reproduction instructions
- Create a self-hosted site (I used Raspian)
- Set it up in the ios app
- Create a post, selecting discussion enabled
- Post
- Use the WP Admin link and QuickEdit to verify that comments are not enabled.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the iOS app against a self-hosted WordPress 6.9.4 site, using the post creation flow with discussion enabled. Compare the self-hosted behavior with WordPress.com and inspect the request or setting used when the post is published; done means comments remain enabled in WP Admin QuickEdit.
