Description

We can dramatically simplify Core Data use at the call site by using an API like:

func performBackgroundOperationAndSave(_ block: @escaping (NSManagedObjectContext) -> Void, onCompletion: @escaping () -> ()) {
       let context = persistentContainer.newBackgroundContext()
       context.perform {
           block(context)
           self.save(context)
           onCompletion()
       }
   }

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the Core Data write call sites and comparing their current patterns with the proposed background operation API; done means the relevant usage is simplified while saving and completion behavior remain correct.
