Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. In the app, add a self-hosted site.
  2. Go to My Site > Stats.
  3. Tap the "Install Jetpack" button and follow the prompts to complete Jetpack setup.
  4. Observe the landing page with empty stats.

Results:

  • Empty graphs have strange faded bars at the bottom in dark mode on new sites that don't have any stats recorded yet.
  • Lots of "No data for this period" notices.

Tested with WPAndroid 16.3-rc-2 on Pixel 3 Android 11.

Would you consider adding a no results screen or a welcome screen or some other messaging explaining how stats work on brand new sites with no stats recorded yet? Perhaps include a link to some tips on how to get more traffic?

Research direction

Start at the My Site > Stats landing page and reproduce the empty state after completing Jetpack setup on a new self-hosted site. The issue needs a decided intro or no-results design, with messaging about stats and possibly a traffic-help link, and completion means the blank graphs and repeated no-data notices are replaced by that experience.
