Research direction

No files, tests, or code entry points are named. Start by reproducing the delay with the stated freeSSHd win64 and SSHFS win32 setup, comparing large-file downloads with opening PPTX files before and after PowerPoint is running. Done means identifying the cause of the 10–20 second slowdown and resolving it or documenting the limitation.

Description

Hi,

I've setup freeSSHd server win64 on one end and mapped a network drive on win32 via SSHFS. Cypher AES128 (same issue with others). Connection works fine.
When I try to download large pptx files (60-150MB) it is very fast (~25MB/s).
When I try to open pptx files it behaves weirdly: for first 10-20 seconds it sends something at <1MB/s, then PowerPoint starts and then it's loading at ~25MB/s.
You could blame MS, but PowerPoint starts instantly if opening local files. Also it works fast when PowerPoint is already running and your try to open a remote file from within the PowerPoint.
Anything I could do to remove this initial 10-20 second delay?
