bug: dragging outside editor triggers mouse events

Description
Describe the bug
Mouse drag events that leave the editor (monaco?) area should not trigger mouse click events outside.
To reproduce
Example
If I - (trying to select the text as in the screenshot) - drag the mouse outside the editor frame & (for example) into the greyed-out area behind the modal:
Expected behavior
mouse event ignored outside the editor
