Description

Google has officially deprecated the legacy Cloud Messaging API in favor of the newer, more secure FCM HTTP v1 API, which uses OAuth 2.0 access tokens. The legacy API was shut down in July 2024, so you can no longer enable or use it for new projects.

Research direction

No documentation file, test, or entry point is named. Start by searching the docs repository for “Cloud Messaging API” and “FCM” to find guidance that still references the legacy API. Done means the affected documentation no longer directs users to the shut-down API and reflects the supported FCM HTTP v1 approach.
