It would be good to have a keyboard shortcut (like CMD+ALT+T) and keyboard+mouse combo (ALT+Click on the new tab button) to open a new tab in the home/custom directory (which could be configurable in settings).

I'm always frustrated whenever I am in some directory and want to open a new tab (not a new window) in the home/custom directory. Instead, it opens the previous session's directory. I understand that we can configure the behavior statically in settings. However, I like to have the option to modify the behavior dynamically when I want to open a new tab.

Start with the existing new-tab button action, keyboard shortcut handling, and settings path for the custom directory behavior. Confirm how the previous session directory is selected, then define and test the shortcut and Alt+click behavior so each opens the configured home/custom directory without changing the static setting.
