Description

Bug 27474:

Note this was removed to pre-CR so we don't forget it. Seems reasonable to do, but not a substantial change.

Editorial note

Should the following be specified.

  • RSASSA-PKCS1-v1_5 with SHA-1
  • RSA-PSS with SHA-1
  • ECDSA with SHA-1
  • ECDSA where the curve (P-256, P-384, P-521) is not aligned with the hash (SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512)

Research direction

Start with Appendix A and the editorial note describing the proposed JWK-to-algorithm conversions. Compare each listed RSA and ECDSA case with the current specification, then document whether the cases should be specified and ensure the note is resolved rather than left as an open question.
