Description

Just opening this for the record...

The spec says:

"If the content box has a top accent attachment or italic correction then the padding box has the same properties, increased by the inline-start padding. "

"If the padding box has an italic correction and the border-width of the inline-end edge of the border box is zero then the border box has the same italic correction value increased by the border-width of its inline-start edge. "

"If the border box has a top accent attachment or italic correction then the margin box has the same properties, increased by the inline-start margin. "

I don't remember why I made the italic correction affected by inline-start metrics...

Research direction

The issue names no source file, test, or implementation entry point; it only quotes three MathML Core specification rules. Start by reviewing those rules and their surrounding specification context, then determine whether the inline-start effects are intentional and document the resolved wording or rationale.
