Description
When using CSS Grid, the outer container element is not what the element is sized to. It is sized to the column/row within that element.
Container queries should react to the size of the column/row of the grid, not the size of the parent element.

Research direction
Start with the linked CSS Containment Level 3 specification and review how container query sizing is defined for elements participating in CSS Grid. Done means the specification clearly defines whether queries react to the grid track's column or row size rather than the outer container size.
