Description

It would be helpful if you could disable one axis via scrollIntoViewOptions so the element would scroll only horizontally or vertically.
Something like
{behavior: 'smooth', block:'none', inline: 'end'}

Research direction

Start by reading the CSSOM View specification text for scrollIntoViewOptions and compare the requested block:'none' and inline:'end' behavior with the current definition. The work is done when the specification clearly supports disabling either axis while preserving scrolling on the other axis.
