Description

Package name

Description

ONNX Runtime is a cross-platform inference and machine-learning runtime for executing models in the ONNX format. It is used as a runtime dependency by a growing number of applications that provide local AI/ML functionality.

I encountered the missing package while trying to build the OBS Background Removal plugin. The plugin uses ONNX Runtime for real-time neural-network inference to remove webcam backgrounds.

There is already an open package request for enabling ONNX-based AI functionality in Darktable #61938. That request specifically mentions Darktable 5.6's AI Object Mask and Neural Restore features and its dependency on ONNX Runtime. This suggests ONNX Runtime would be useful as a reusable system package.

Does the requested package meet the package requirements?

Research direction

The issue names no repository file, test, or entry point. Start with Void's package requirements and the ONNX Runtime homepage linked in the request, then inspect existing package recipes for comparable runtimes. Done means ONNX Runtime is added as a usable Void package and the relevant package checks pass.
