Description

Package name

umu-launcher

Package homepage

https://github.com/Open-Wine-Components/umu-launcher

Description

umu is a unified launcher for Windows games on Linux. It replicates the steam linux runtime, allowing games to run without steam or steam binaries, even if they depend on the steam linux runtime. It is a dependency for some launchers, most importantly Lutris (this forum post explains a bit), but can be used standalone, in CLI, with umu-run.

The tool does need to be built with make, but since it's mostly python, an interpreted language, I'm not 100% certain it counts as meeting the "Compiled" requirement, so please tell me if I'm wrong.

Does the requested package meet the package requirements?

System, Compiled, Required

Is the requested package released?

Yes

Research direction

Start with the umu-launcher homepage and its documented make-based build process, paying attention to the umu-run CLI entry point and Python dependencies. The package is done when umu-launcher is added to Void's source packages collection and its build succeeds under the stated System, Compiled, and Required requirements.
