Package(s) Affected
llvm21
Does a report exist for this bug with the project's home (upstream) and/or another distro?
No response
Expected behaviour
no such symlink is created (for llvm21 only)
Actual behaviour
xbps-alternatives/xbps-install outputs the following:
Creating 'llvm' alternatives group symlink: /usr/bin/prepare_builtins -> /usr/lib/llvm/21/bin/prepare_builtins
and acts accordingly. /usr/lib/llvm/21/bin/prepare_builtins is not provided by any package on Void Linux
Steps to reproduce
xbps-install -S llvm21 and/or xbps-install -S llvm21

Research direction
Start by locating the llvm21 package metadata and the xbps-alternatives configuration responsible for /usr/bin/prepare_builtins. Reproduce the llvm21 installation, then trace why the nonexistent /usr/lib/llvm/21/bin/prepare_builtins enters the alternatives group. Done means installing llvm21 no longer creates that symlink.
