Actual behaviour
application is completely unresponsive to user input, except for the menu and the top of the window.
Selecting an option with the top menu causes a popup saying "The window is not responding"

- Launch vscode: "code-oss"
- At the top left, click File > Prefrences > Settings
"The window is not responding"
