Package(s) Affected

gnome-44.0_1

Does a report exist for this bug with the project's home (upstream) and/or another distro?

No response

Expected behaviour
  1. Using the slider for changing the brightness, should work.
  2. Using the keys for changing the brightness, should work.
Actual behaviour

Neither the slider nor the keys work for changing backlight.

Using light -S 10 works for me.

I tried this solution but it didn't work: https://askubuntu.com/a/1402769

Steps to reproduce
  1. Start gnome session from gdm.
  2. Try to change backlight.

Research direction

Reproduce the issue in a GNOME 44 session started from GDM on the reported Void Linux system, testing both the brightness slider and keyboard keys. Compare that behavior with the reported working light -S 10 command; done means both normal GNOME controls change the backlight as expected.
