Does a report exist for this bug with the project's home (upstream) and/or another distro?
No response
Expected behaviour
selected subtitle should automatically be loaded
Actual behaviour
vlsub gets stuck whilst saving subtitles, previous versions of vlc used to have issues with vlsub but i checked the same versions vlc-3.0.18_3 with vlsub 0.11.1 on other distros and this doesn't happen, I wasn't able to figure out how to debug or get a log of vlsub
Steps to reproduce
- install vlc
- load a movie
- click on View -> vlsub
- search by hash
- click on any sub
- download selection

Research direction
Reproduce the issue with VLC 3.0.18_3 and VLSub 0.11.1 using the listed View → VLSub, hash search, and Download selection steps. Compare the behavior with the same versions on other distributions and investigate how the subtitle save step behaves; done means the selected subtitle loads automatically without VLSub getting stuck.
