Description

The laptop's SSD is fried, so I'm trying to install from a usb stick, to another usb stick (good quality sticks). However, both cfdisk and the filesystems menu item fail to work with the target usb stick, and they just unmount it completely. I never had trouble installing to a usb stick before with either arch, or debian-based.

Research direction

No file or test is named. Start by reproducing installation from one USB stick to another and compare the cfdisk and filesystems menu paths; investigate where the target USB stick is unmounted. Done means both paths handle the target stick without unexpectedly unmounting it and installation can proceed.
