Description
Not sure which project to put this in, so move it if necessary ...
Perhaps you'd like to add a loopback.cfg to the live iso. That way, various tools can autoconfigure the iso to be run from a file. eg. grml-rescueboot (package in Debian & derivatives, works with iso's other than grml), autoiso-multiboot, supergrubdisk, etc. Many distributions already have such a file: Debian live iso, Ubuntu, Mint, Manjaro, NixOS... Here's a request for it in Arch, and here for Gentoo.
Thanks for considering it!

Research direction
Start by locating where the live ISO is assembled and where files intended for boot-time tooling are added. Check how other distributions structure their loopback.cfg files, including the Debian live ISO examples referenced in the issue. Done means the generated live ISO contains a usable loopback.cfg for the listed autoconfiguration tools.
