Description

Hi,

we use the software together with Ansible.
Some of our scenarios involve rebooting the vm into network mode just for os reinstallation.
While it is possible to use the change boot device to ethernet, reboot, change boot device to disk again the easiest way for us would be to have that coded as a one time next boot change only.

Thanks a lot!

Research direction

Start with the linked Ansible commit and trace the corresponding boot-device handling in the pyvmomi API bindings. Done means exposing a way to request a one-time next-boot network device change while preserving the normal boot device afterward.
