Description

Hello,
I want to issue some querries on the vCenter or on ESXi host (v6.5.0+) using pyVmomi.
Today, I use a user/password combinaison, but I would like to use a session file (like for issuing esxcli commands through the shell).
In fact, my python script must be used in a monitoring tool, in which I don't want to store the password.
Can you add the feature soon or propose me an alternative solution? Thanks by advance!

Research direction

Start by reviewing pyVmomi's existing login and session handling alongside the vSphere and ESXi 6.5+ authentication documentation; the issue names no repository file or test. Done means providing a supported password-free session-file path or documenting an alternative suitable for the monitoring tool.
