Description

I am trying to import VM using pyvmomi. And I have code ready which works just fine. Now one more requirement I got is, I need to specify VM storage policy while importing VM. So I looked into resourePool.ImportVApp & CreateImportSpec but didnt found any option to specify any VM storage policy. When I looked into clone workflow , it gives an option for vim.vm.ProfileSpec and I am exactly looking for the same option with import vm workflow.

Any idea how can I pass vim.vm.ProfileSpec while importing VM.

Research direction

Start by examining resourcePool.ImportVApp and CreateImportSpec in the pyvmomi bindings, then compare their available options with the clone workflow's vim.vm.ProfileSpec support. Determine whether import supports passing a VM storage policy and document the supported behavior or the API change required.
