Description

Describe the bug

Hi,

https://packages.vmware.com/photon/rpm-ostree/base/4.0/
https://packages.vmware.com/photon/rpm-ostree/base/dev/
Does anyone do maintenance on above repo?
It's even older than the version in the photon-4.0-c001795b8.iso...

warn

Also, I noticed that the default repo branch in photon-4.0-c001795b8.iso is dev, shouldn't that be 4.0? I think this is a bug.
ver

When I ran rpm-ostree upgrade after changing it to 4.0, it was still older than the iso version.

Finally, gpg-verify is not available.

Reproduction steps
1.photon-4.0-c001795b8.iso
2.Install Photon OSTree Host -> Default RPM-OSTree Server
3.rpm-ostree upgrade
Expected behavior

rpm-ostree repo should newer.

It is best to provide 'stable' 'next'.... branch like other distributions.

Research direction

Start by comparing the RPM-OSTree repositories at the two packages.vmware.com URLs with the Photon 4.0 ISO contents and its default repository branch. Reproduce the issue with rpm-ostree upgrade after installing from the ISO, then verify that the repository is current, uses the intended branch, and provides gpg verification.
