Research direction
Start by comparing metrics/README.md with dist/README.md, noise/README.md, and roots/README.md, then inspect each module's public API and available examples. Update all three READMEs with module purpose, capabilities, API usage snippets, and links to examples or related documentation. Done means each README covers the module's full public API.
