Issue
Yesterday I made a beautiful .hyper.js including a plugin. Hyper did work well and as expected with this.
Today I started my machine and opened hyper and it looked totally different. As I saw the entire configuration has been overwritten by defaults. Also my installed plugin wasn't there anymore. How come? I had to reconfigure all the settings I made yesterday.
Now I changed disableAutoUpdates to true in the hope this helps. And I made a copy of all that files.
BTW: I would still be interested in a solution for case #2431 from 2017.

Research direction
Start by comparing the backed-up .hyper.js with the hyper.json Gist and reviewing the Hyper.app version, Windows environment, and disableAutoUpdates setting described here. Check the referenced case #2431 for related context; done means identifying why configuration and plugins were reset and confirming a fix or reliable prevention.
