Description

Issue

With a clean install of macOS and Hyper, I can't get Hyper to pick up changes to .hyper.js. For example, no plugins show in Hyper, even after a full reload of the app (e.g. hyperline and hyper-blink do not show despite being set in plugins). Hyper ignores other settings, too (e.g. workingDirectory)

In addition, themes only partially install. I've noticed that the tab bar colour is always a different colour to the main console window (see screenshot below, note teal tab bar against dark console window).

I have Powerline10k installed - could this be causing some funky issues with plugins/theming?

Research direction

Start by reviewing the linked .hyper.js configuration and reproducing the settings, plugin, and theme behavior in Hyper.app on Big Sur 11.5.1 with the reported M1 setup. Confirm whether configuration changes are loaded and plugins, workingDirectory, and theme colors take effect; the issue is done when these settings work reliably or the specific incompatibility is identified.
