Issue
I've noticed this issue repeatedly, however, this time has, unfortunately, had me decide to remove Hyper from my windows device. While I have no issues on OS X, Windows has become unusable for me. Upon closing Hyper, the app stays open in the background and needs to be killed via Cmd or Taskmanager. If the task is not killed, the memory growth is extremely high (Nearly crashed my entire PC as it hit 29GB of memory usage). This appears to be the case no matter what plugins are installed and even when nothing was running in the terminal. It would not occur every time, however, it appeared to be rather random.

Research direction
Reproduce the Windows-only behavior by closing Hyper and checking whether its background process remains in Task Manager while memory usage grows. No files, tests, or entry points are named; done means Hyper exits cleanly after closing without continued process or memory growth.
