Hyper is slow

• I am on the latest Hyper.app version
• I have searched the issues of this repo and believe that this is not a duplicate (actually it is, but 2 years later so I think this is relevant)

• OS version and name: Ubuntu 19.04
• Hyper.app version: 3.0.2
• Link of a Gist with the contents of your .hyper.js: Default .hyper.js, no modifications made.
• Relevant information from devtools (CMD+ALT+I on macOS, CTRL+SHIFT+I elsewhere):

Hi!

Hyper is very slow on startup and can sometimes take up to 5-6 seconds to start!
Also, when typing commands, I feel like there is a bit of delay between the moment where I press the key and the moment where it actually appears on the screen.

Hyper is beautiful, but it is very much slower than terminator for example.

Is it an electron-related problem? If so, why did you choose Electron?

Is it likely to be fixed in the next versions?

Reproduce the startup delay and typing lag in Hyper.app 3.0.2 on Ubuntu 19.04 with the default .hyper.js. Start with the Hyper.app devtools and compare behavior against the reported vanilla setup. Done means identifying a reproducible cause and validating improved startup or input responsiveness.
