Can't select text at bottom of window

Issue

When trying to select text, with the mouse, near the bottom of the hyper window (in the last two lines) I can only select the entire line before or after the cursor. For instance, if I am trying to select a single word, I can't, it tries to select the whole line from the cursor.
However, this doesn't happen on the lines above.

I have tried increasing the bottom padding of the screen but this doesn't seem to make a difference.

Reproduce the selection problem in Hyper 3.0.2 on Ubuntu 18.04, focusing on the final two terminal lines and comparing them with lines above. Trace the text-selection handling from the desktop app's terminal UI; done means selecting a single word near the bottom behaves like selection elsewhere.
