3.0.0 completely freezes Mac OS Mojave

Issue

I just downloaded 3.0, and the app not only doesn't properly open (I can see the hyper terminal screen but not the cursor), but the OS freezes. Keyboard/Trackpad I/O must be working since I'm able to move the cursor and I can Cmd+Q to exit Hyper, but other than that all clicks are unresponsive, dock doesn't show up when hovered over etc. I also waited for a long while to see if it'll work at all, but to no avail .

No source file, test, or entry point is identified. Reproduce the freeze with Hyper.app 3.0.0 on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.3, first using the vanilla app and then checking the linked .hyper.js configuration. Done means Hyper opens without freezing macOS and the result is covered by a regression test or documented reproduction.
