Is Vanilla
Issue
On a new machine with Ubuntu 18.10. I installed hyper from the AppImage.
I already have several applications installed using snap, i.e. google-cloud-sdk and kubectl.
The snap applications, i.e. kubectl, work fine from gnome-terminal but are not working from Hyper. When running an application installed as a snap inside Hyper, I get the same output as if I had run the snap command (i.e. the default help message for snap).
Not sure if this is an issue with AppImage, snap, or hyper... starting here.

Research direction
Reproduce the issue on Ubuntu 18.10 using the Hyper AppImage and a snap-installed command such as kubectl, then compare its behavior in Hyper with gnome-terminal. Determine whether the failure is specific to Hyper, the AppImage environment, or snap command resolution; done means snap applications run normally from Hyper.
