Description

  • I am on the latest Hyper.app version
  • I have searched the issues of this repo and believe that this is not a duplicate
  • Debian WSL on Windows 10:
  • 2.0.0-canary.14:
  • The issue is reproducible in vanilla Hyper.app:

Issue

This is an old issue #270, that was supposedly fixed by #2437, but that was under hterm I believe. The cursor remains a block regardless of mode in Neovim. Not sure if the change to xterm has caused a regression here or I am missing something.

Research direction

Reproduce the cursor behavior in vanilla Hyper.app on Debian WSL with Neovim, checking whether it stays a block when switching modes. Read issue #270 and the change in #2437, then compare the current xterm behavior with the earlier hterm-based fix. Done means the cursor shape changes correctly between modes.
