Description

  • I am on the latest Hyper.app version

  • I have searched the issues of this repo and believe that this is not a duplicate

  • OS version and name: Windows 10 latest

  • Hyper.app version: 1.0.0

  • The issue is reproducible in vanilla Hyper.app: Is Vanilla

Issue

Maybe a minor issue but:
Installation on Windows is absolutely non-standard. Not that bad but as no options for the installation can be defined a big fat icon ends up on the desktop. There are a few apps that do this (mostly big players like Adobe) and I always think of this as desktop icon spam.

So maybe add an option on install or simply do not create a desktop icon. Start menu item is sufficient.

Research direction

Start by locating the Windows installer configuration, which is not identified in the issue. Check how the desktop shortcut is created and whether installation options are supported. Done means installing Hyper on Windows creates the Start menu entry without a desktop icon, or provides the requested installer option.
