Research direction

Start by reproducing the Vercel build for the nx-monorepo example, focusing on the npx nx-ignore app command and the logged git merge-base --fork-point "HEAD^" "HEAD" failure. Inspect the example's Nx and Vercel build configuration; done means the example deploys without the HEAD^ or unrecognized-argument errors.
