Third-party tweak software installed

None

Describe the bug

When inserting any USB Data Transfer Device, all Explorer tabs reset to Desktop.

Expected outcome

Nothing changes to open Explorer tabs.

Actual outcome

All open Explorer tabs revert to Desktop.

Additional info

This is the same behavior shown in ticket #4641 in which the only support resolution was "update Windows to 24H2+"

Updating to 24H2+ is not possible on my device due to hardware limitations. I would expect the developers to understand these types of issues and either work a real resolution for this issue, or point end users to a latest supported version of ExplorerPatcher that supports their specific OS build.

Register as shell extension is OFF.

The only items turned ON are: "Auto Hide the Taskbar" and "Enable Symbols Download"

The only setting modified is the Windows 10 Start Menu. No Explorer Window changes have been made.

If you provide me a link to download a previous version that supports 22H2, build 22621.4317, I will ensure I never update past that version. I have been using ExplorerPatcher for years without issue. This began around the same time as the issue in #4641.

Research direction

Reproduce the issue with ExplorerPatcher 26100.8457.70.3 on Windows 11 22H2 build 22621.4317 by inserting a USB data-transfer device while multiple Explorer tabs are open. Compare the behavior with ExplorerPatcher disabled and verify that the fix leaves existing Explorer tabs unchanged; no source file or test is identified in the report.
