Description
Hi,
In many apps it is VITAL to have a method that returns the first (or top) row index of grid's viewport. It is urgent for situations when grid switches between several datasets, as well as in many other practical cases. Lack of such functionality strongly restricts Grid usage for a significant number of tasks. Even the good old deprecated Table suggested some kind of solution with its getCurrentPageFirstItemId() method.

Research direction
Start by examining the Grid API and the deprecated Table method getCurrentPageFirstItemId() mentioned in the issue. Determine where a viewport row index can be exposed and define done as a Grid method that returns the first visible row index when switching datasets or viewing other grid content.
