Research direction
Start in tests/common/util.rs at expected_result and identify the tests for du, ls, and tail that compare against the local GNU coreutils. Check the Ubuntu-latest CI environment and its GNU coreutils 8.3x behavior, then update the affected test expectations and run those command-specific tests to confirm they pass.
