Description

Hi, uutils mainteners

the previous "%.100000d" fixed no longer panic but `"%.100000f" still panics as i observed

relunsec@relunsec:~/software/coreutils/target/debug$ ./printf "%.100000f" 1 7

thread 'main' (65075) panicked at src/uucore/src/lib/features/format/num_format.rs:390:5:
Formatting argument out of range

Research direction

Start in src/uucore/src/lib/features/format/num_format.rs around line 390 and reproduce the panic with ./printf "%.100000f" 1 7. Compare this path with the already-fixed handling for "%.100000d". Done means the floating-point format no longer panics for the reported command and the relevant formatting behavior is covered by a test.
