Research direction
Start in src/uucore/src/lib/features/format/num_format.rs around line 390 and reproduce the panic with ./printf "%.100000f" 1 7. Compare this path with the already-fixed handling for "%.100000d". Done means the floating-point format no longer panics for the reported command and the relevant formatting behavior is covered by a test.
