Description

$ uu_shred -
uu_shred: -: No such file or directory

$ gnushred -
shred: -: invalid file type

Note this syntax is a way to deallocate but not unlink a file.
I.e. this is not some theoretical edge case

Research direction

Start by locating the Rust implementation and tests for the shred command, then reproduce the reported uu_shred - behavior. Done means the command handles - as standard output without the missing-file error while preserving the stated deallocation-without-unlinking use case.
