Allow passing host IP address to guest

What is really missing is that the guest does not know the (internal) IP address of the host.
Is there a way to put the host IP somewhere, e.g. in a file or an environment variable ?
The problem is that Spice tools with host sharing not always works, particularly with Linux guests.
Now I have to hard code the host IP to make connections to the host.
