Description

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but after spending the day fighting with React-CodeMirror to get a minimal setup (no keymaps, no line number, no codefolding, no nothing, for plaintext), I ended up switching to non-React CodeMirror and it was so much easier to work with even tho I'm using it inside a React project.

As far as I can tell, there's a lot of things enabled that shouldn't be in the defailt instantiation. If you can reproduce my issue, please fix.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the reported minimal plaintext setup in React-CodeMirror and compare it with the non-React CodeMirror behavior described in the issue. Inspect how the default instantiation enables keymaps, line numbers, and code folding; done means a minimal setup can leave those features disabled without switching libraries.
