Parking Eligibility by Building

As a site owner of transportation.uiowa.edu, we would like to dynamically display parking eligibility by building so that we do not have to manually manage this content in multiple places.

This page is getting increasingly more difficult to manage due to there being more anticipated changes with buildings on campus. Expecting quite a few changes coming Fall 2025 so ideally there would be a solution by beginning of Fall semester.

FBIS manages the existing backend for the permit waitlist data.

They would like to dynamically display building names, abbreviations and the lots that are eligible for each building.

They would like to have the ability to use a search filter to filter by building name or building abbreviation. Searching by eligible lot not needed.

Refresh data once a day at the most.

Start by reviewing the existing parking eligibility page and how FBIS currently provides permit waitlist data. Define the data source for building names, abbreviations, and eligible lots, the daily refresh behavior, and the building-name or abbreviation filter; done means the page displays current data without manual duplication and supports those searches.
